幼年的沙利文因严重眼疾，脾气暴躁，被关进福利院的笼子。一个清洁女工经常钻进笼子去安抚她，关怀她。安妮的心灵慢慢康复了。她离开福利院后，被培养成一名教师，第一个学生就是海伦。

Standing behind Helen

Someone asked blind writer Helen·Kater who had the most influence on her. She answered : “安妮.沙利文” “No, the man influenced you most is a ceaner.”
