deadly bombing ripped through Kabul's crowded streets just as people were getting to work this morning. Afghanistan officials say 12 people died in the blast. The Taliban has claimed responsibility, saying that a man blew up an SUV outside the Indian embassy. Indian officials say they targeted the embassy. The blast damaged the embassy's checkpoint, it shattered windows and also toppled restaurant walls in the area.
Even if North Korea comes back to nuclear disarmament talks, a South Korean official says that sanctions should remain in place. Earlier this week, North Korean leader Kim Jong-il said his government is willing to resume six-nation talks, depending on the progress in negotiations with the US .
Agents say they have broken up a major international ID theft ring, 100 American and Egyptian suspects were indicted yesterday and at least 50 have already been arrested. They are accused of collecting personal information by getting people to respond to phony email. The FBI says the suspects stole more than 2 million dollars.
One bad thing to look forward to as the economy recovers is more flight delays according to a Bookings Institution report out today. The study blames general backups on heavy traffic for short trips between big cities and the report also cites issues with ill-equipped air traffic control system, and calls for more high-speed intercity rail service.
NASA has decided to bomb the moon, that's right. Tomorrow morning they are going to crash a rocket into the surface of the moon's south pole, and then analyze the debris to see how much water or ice there might be under the dust and rocks on the lunar surface. NASA says it's going to be visible with a telescope here on earth.

President Obama has won the Noble Peace Prize.The stunning announcement made earlier this morning.The NominatingCommittee said that Mr. Obama was chosen for his internationaldiplomacy efforts.And they specifically mentioned his outrage to the MuslimWorld and his work on climate changing and nuclear disarmament.WhiteHouse correspondent Dan Lothian explained how President Obama heard thenews."It was Robert Gibbs,the White House spokeman who called thePresident this morning shortly before 6 a.m.And then brought the news to him that he has won the Noble Peace Prize and according to the Senior Administration official,the President was "humble to be selected by the committee",but clearly the White House was caught off guard by this announcement.In fact,another administration official saying we were "quite surprise by the announcement."
This morning,two NASA spacecrafts crashed into the moon on purpose.The first one didthe dirty work kicking up a crowd of dust.Then a few minutes later,thesecond one flew in to analyze the dust particles before it crashed aswell.NASA is hoping to find water in some of that soil.
In the Philippine's land,a landslide and flooding unleashed by tropical depression "Parma" has killed at least 97 people.This is according to rescue group who say 195 others are fear dead.Two U.S naval ships standing by with helicopters and both to help with some of the rescues there.

Now President Obama has another meeting this coming week on a developing strategy for Afghanistan. He met for three hours yesterday at the White House with top advisors. President says he wants to indentify objectives in Afghanistan before he decides whether to commit more troops. Commanding general in Afghanistan wants as many as forty thousand troops soon.
Well, gunmen attacked a Pakistani Army Headquarters’ checkpoint in Rawalpindi today. Four gunmen, six army guards, all killed. Two gunmen escaped. A military official says the Taliban are claiming responsibility for that attack. It was the third major attack this week. A suicide car bomber killed at least forty-nine people yesterday in Peshawar. And on Monday five workers were killed in an attack at, on a UN Food Program office in Islamabad.
Well, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on a six-day trip to Europe, including a stop in Russia. Today she will attend a signing ceremony normalizing relation with Turkey and Armenia. Now the center piece of this trip will be her visit to Moscow where she will discuss nuclear disarmament.
Authorities questioned two more men about the alleged terror plot involving an Afghan national, 24-year-old Najibullah Zazi. He is accused of conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction. Remember him? New York. Well, CNN has learned that police searched the apartment of a Bosnian immigrant in Queens, New York. Investigators also questioned a taxi driver living in that same apartment about this alleged plot.

Pakistani commando stormed the building at the army’s national headquarters, freeing 39 hostages. Two of the militants who have taken those hostages were killed along with three hostages, two other militants blew themselves up and one was captured. The incident began yesterday when militants attacked that headquarters, four attackers, six guards killed in the initial attack.
Other story at Arizona where a new age spiritual ceremony turned deadly. Police say two people died after a nearly two hours inside a sweatbox. Several others were packed into the setup, which was like sauna. Best selling author, and self-help guru James Arthur Ray, he led this event, but police say he is not cooperating with their investigation.
At least eight Iraqi police officers have been killed in an attack today in the western part of the country. Iraqi interior officials say two car bombs were set off outside police headquarters in the city of Ramadi, which is west of Baghdad. Authorities say the bombings injured 50 others, including civilians and police.
In Idaho, a deadly crash involving a bus-load of high school band members, the bus veered off and crashed, injured 15 in Idoho. State police say an adult on board died, Affiliate KIFI reporting that victim was a chaperon. More than a dozen students on the bus were hurt, investigators say the driver had some medical conditions that caused that crash.
President Obama is reaffirming his commitment to make good on campaign promises to the gay community. He spoke at the human rights campaign dinner in Washington last night, the president praised the gay community for making strides in legal rights and reassured the group that he’ll still be there with them in their fight for equality.

Countless activists and organizers never gave up, you helped vigils, you spoke out, year after year, congress after congress, the house passed the bill again this week, and I can announce that after more than a decade, this bill is set to pass, and I will sign it into law.
