I Teaching aims:

III Teaching procedures:

Step 1 warming-up:

Greeting and play an English song for students.

Step 2 presentation

After the song, I ll show a piece of video about a person comes into a new place and can t find the way. Ask students what can he do? and what will he say? Show a map of the neighborhood and describe the way by using the new phrases go straight, turn, down, next to , and lead students pay attention that if they want to ask for directions they can say Is there a hotel in the neighborhood? --Yes, there is.

Step 3 Practice

Do a competition. Show some simple maps and ask students try to describe the way to get somewhere by using the new expression.

Step 4 production

Do a role play. This time, ask students to draw their own map and work in pairs to make a conversation.

Step 5 summary and homework

Do a summary by asking questions and after class, ask students to help others find their ways by speaking English.
