  The light of an oil lamp is approximately insignificant in the daytime; however, the darker the environment is, the more brilliant it seems, just as is depicted in the picture. The importance of love, to some extent, can be interpreted according to a similar logic—love is more precious when it is given to those who are in difficulties and adversities.

  To specify this statement, I would like to take Kong Fansen as an example. Kong, instead of settling for his comfortable official position in the rich and well-off Province of Shandong, volunteered to serve in a most backward area in Tibet where the weather is notoriously abominable. Kong was consistently dedicated to the fulfillment of the principle of “serving the people”, and he always appeared at the most critical moments of local residents’ hardship and impediment. Freezing as it was in Tibet, Kong’s love and care largely warmed people’s hearts.

  Kong’s story, suggest that the best practice to show love is to help those who are in need. We should always be ready to provide assistance to others, even if it is merely minor things like listening to others’ troubles. A little of our generosity might brighten the whole world of the unfortunate.

  The picture reminds us that in China, due to the unbalanced distribution of natural resources, a large portion of people are still leading a miserable life. Poor children become dropouts dropouts simply because they cannot afford tuition. Moreover, there are areas which are occasionally attacked by natural disasters, and thus local people often relapse into terrible predicaments.   The drawing depicts a boy who just finishes doing the housework that is supposed to be the daily task of his mother. Sweating and tired, the boy cannot help exclaiming that is it really not easy to be a mother. Meanwhile, his parents are observing him secretly from behind the door, their emails revealing content.

  Such a scenario is particularly worth praising against the social background of a generation that is greatly spoiled. Other than the boy in this picture, many children do not know how to wash clothes, clean rooms and manage personal affairs, because they are deprived of the chances of labor whenever at home. Nevertheless, I do not think that housework is a waste of time or with negative influence on children. On the contrary, it helps enhance their understanding of how hard their parents are striving to provide them with a good life. As a result, it will surely lead to a closer psychological bond between parents and children.

  We may safely arrive at the conclusion that role exchange among family members is influential in supplying children a well-rounded cultivation.   The primary purpose of the picture lies in eulogizing the practice among people of selflessly offering help. As a matter of fact, it is not rare to find in our everyday life deeds of similar nature. For instance, the eldly, little kids, and pregnant women are usually provided seats by strangers in the most crowded buses. The victim looks very annoyed by the women’s selfish behavior.

  It goes without saying that the drawing targets at assailing the deteriorating relationship among neighborhoods or communities. Not only friendship between neighbors becomes rarer, people even tend to forget that helping each other is our ethical responsibility. In contrast, they prefer to place their own interest at the utmost position, overwhelming the fact that others have the same rights. The result is that neighbors are often like strangers, who would never talk to each other of even a single word after living in the same building for years.
