Part II Reading Comprehension (35 minutes) Directions: There are 4 passages in this part. Each passage is followed by some questions or unfinished statements. For each of them there are four choices marked A), B), C) and D). You should decide on the best choice and mark the corresponding letter on the Answer Sheet with a single line through the centre. Passage One Questions 21 to 25 are based on the following passage. The aim of the teacher is to get his pupils as quickly as possible over t period in which each printed symbol is looked at for its shape, and arrive at the stage when the pupil looks at words and phrases, for their meanin without noticing the shapes of the separate letters. When a good reader is at work he does not look at letters, nor even at words, one by one however quickly; he takes in the meaning of two, three, or four words a t a t i m e , i n a s i n g l e m o m e n t .
