Vehicle Tracking Systems

     A vehicle tracking system is a security system that can track the location of a car ortruck if it is stolen. Once system uses an on-board security control module, a miniaturetransmitter and receiver,  the global positioning satellite  system,  and a 24-hourmonitoring/response center.

    If a vehicle with this type of system is stolen, a signal is transmitted by themonitoring center to activate the tracking system. Once activated, the control module usesinformation received from the GPS system to pinpoint the vehicle's location. The systemthen transmits the location of the vehicle to the monitoring center.

    This type of vehicle tracking system is usually small and self-contained, allowing it tobe easily hidden on the vehicle. such a system usually incorporates a backup battery. Thisallows the system to continue receiving transmitting even after the vehicle's battery hasbeen removed.
