第一篇:英语演讲稿《Global citizenship begins at home》
good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, honorable judges. today i feel highly honored to stand here and deliver this speech to you. my topic is “Global citizenship begins at home”.
Global citizenship, from my point of view, is a kind of responsibility, a way of behaving, under the tide of Globalization.
since china has been a member of wto for 6 years, great changes have taken place around us. it’s no wonder that Global citizenship deeply affected contemporary chinese people. as far as the Globalization is concerned, we’ll easily find that all the citizens around the world are in the same huge family-----the earth. we care about each other, we learn from each other, we work and have fun together. just like the slogan of the 29th olympic games being held in beijing says:” one world, one dream.”
nowadays, we can keep ourselves informed just stay at home because of a variety of media. more and more corporations join together to develop advanced products. we begin to notice the significance of cooperation and gradually realized that we are Global citizens whether we are young or old, male or female, rich or poor.
however, at the same time, in order to Globalize, we expense so much that we are losing something traditional. therefore, i believe it’s of great urgency to think Globally and act locally.
it goes without saying that we have to confronted with more problems as a consequence of Globalization. we should spare no effort to deal with questions of common concern, such as Global warming, pollutions, disasters and terrorist activities for we not only belong to our own nation, but the whole world as well.
as a university student, especially us students from college of foreign language, it’s no longer enough for us to pay close attention to our motherland. we are in the competition within a range of the whole world.
action speaks louder than eloquence. everyone can be Global citizen if he wants to be. if you use paper bags instead of plastic ones, if you remember to turn off the lights when leaving the room, if you read international news everyday, then you’ve already been a Global citizen.
to sum up, Global citizenship begins at home. only if every one of us takes ourselves for Global citizen, can our world be more harmonious. that’s all for my speech.
thank you!
第二篇:英语演讲稿:Global citizenship begins at home
ladies and gentlemen,
good afternoon, honorable judges.as a citizen of a country, i have a birth certificate, a household register and a identity card.
i am entitled to certain rights, responsibilities and privileges.
i have freedom of movements in the country, i obe(请勿抄袭好范文 网:WWW.HAoWoRd.COm)y the country’s laws, and i enjoy the convenience of social policies and so on .what about a citizen of globe? is there anything to characterize the Global citizenship? a certificate, a register or certain rights? not really.
Global citizenship means a world where people are treated and respected equally for who they are.
it is about helping people that are less fortunate.it is about inclusiveness.interacting and working together is the core of being and belonging.
we need to realize how important our connections are with others in our friendships, our neighborhoods, our communities, and with our planet.
in another word, Global citizenship is about people’s awareness of seeking the common good.it is about everyone.is my idea too abstract? here i’ve got a vivid example.when i was a child, my father always told me some stories about the past generation.
once he told me a story about a doctor.when the doctor heard people suffering in spain because of the civil war, he came to help.
he saw many people dying just because they had no money.then he proposed a system that enabled the poor to have medical treatment.it is the beginning of the idea of socialized medical care.after the war, the doctor worked hard to improve the treatment of tuberculosis.
in 1938, the second sino-japanese war broke out in china.the fifty-year-old doctor came to help again.
during his years in china, he trained more than 1000 chinese to be medics and doctors.it was him that designed the world’s first mobile medical unit which saved thousands of lives.in the story, what impressed me most was a description of this admirable doctor.
my father could still remember it even after decades.
it was “his utter devotion to others without any thought of self was shown in his great sense of responsibility in his work and his great warm-heartedness towards all comrades and the people”.till now, you must know the doctor.
you are right.it is norman bethune, a distinguished surgeon.
he was a medical hero who helped unite two countries by showing our common humanity beyond cultural and political differences.what kind of spirit is this that makes a foreigner selflessly adopt the cause of the chinese peoples liberation as his own? it is called the spirit of Global citizenship-seeking the common good.as a doctor, norman bethune did his best.

what kind of spirit is this that makes a foreigner selflessly adopt the cause of the chinese people's liberation as his own? it is called the spirit of Global citizenship-seeking the common good.
as a doctor, norman bethune did his best. as a citizen, what could you do? encouraging awareness of seeking the common good is not a search for scapegoats, but an expression of responsibility. it is a call to conscience. and though it requires sacrifice, it brings a deeper fulfillment.
what you do is as important as anything the doctor did, as long as it benefits people. you are needed to seek a common good beyond your comfort; to serve the world, beginning with your neighbor; to become Global citizens. Global citizens, not spectators; Global citizens, not subjects; responsible Global citizens, seeking the common good. let’s act now.
第四篇:全球公民化在家开始(Global citizenship begins at home)
全球公民化在家开始(Global citizenship begins at home) Global citizenship begins at home. do you know what is the connotation of the Global citizenship ? to be honest i don’t understand the exactly meaning of the sentence ,so only can i explain it simply .Global citizenship ,in my opinion ,is not something in word only ,but a kind of responsibility and undertaking ,a way of behaving and thinking .so Global citizenship begins at home ,with a commitment to live responsibility ,to regard all human begins as fellow citizens ,and to be proactive in seeking the common good.
for us university students ,usually we are busy with exams or focusing on the incidents in daily life .we hardly pay attention to the Global issues. however , as university students ,we should take the responsibility to think about them ,think about the life around us.
a month ago ,a serious outbreak of blue algae in the taihu lake in wuxi made the water undrinkable, which brought so much unconvenient to the citizens in wuxi .it warned that we broke the balance of the nature ,it began to punish the human.
apart from the environment we had broke at home ,we chinese also have no sense to protect it when traveling abroad. therefore chinese travelers’ behaviors in foreign countries have made the native intolerable .and the foreigners have the bad influence about our country.
so i think the sentence of Global citizenship begins at home means that everyone should be the Global citizen ,should take the responsibility to protect our mother land .Global citizenship begins at home ,let we do it through the children and the parents ,through the school and the society, thou the government .there’s an old saying : action speaks louder than words. let’s act now.
第五篇:英语演讲:Global citizenship begins at home
ladies and gentlemen ,thanks for raising your attention .today i’ll give you a speech named “Global citizenship begins at home”.
being received by many international organizations just like opec ,wto ,all of us get closer contact with other parts of the world ,so that we should not only deal with the native citizenship well ,but also Global one .
no doubt “kyoto protocol” is a model of assembling abilities all over the world to administer and green-house gas pollution .it’s beyond the effort made by politicians and environmentalists only ,and requires all men to attend it .face to such issues ,we are no more than a person who comes from a certain city even a specific country ,but a Global citizen that everyone should say it proudly .
besides ,from madam curies who argues that science and technology should not be limited by national boundaries .progress is never a nationality’s or a country’s progress ,it need all to avail from it .creating or spreading science and technology ,together with direct economic support ,bridges the gap between one area and another ,which in order to help a creature as same as ourselves or just because of deep sympathy .thus a person exists as individual ,as well an undivided part of human beings all over the world .even though what we could do may be negligible ,doing something without regret is the necessary way to realize and fulfill our own Global citizenship .
nowadays ,terrorist acts suggest that world lacks comprehension ,and the divergence of religion and culture should be respect .being respectful for the diversity is always
